G21 Bone cements for orthopaedics are intended to be used during surgeries, such as:

  • primary and revision arthroplasty;
  • post-traumatic joint replacement;
  • osteo-arthritis joint replacement;
  • osteoporotic complication.

G21’s Radiopaque Bone Cements are intended for the application in Hips, Knees and other joints Arthroplasty procedures. They are specifically formulated to allow the fixation of the metallic or polymeric prosthesis on the living bone.
The Bone Cements are provided with two components, powder and liquid, meant to be mixed and applied in the OR.
The formers are formulated to develop the correct viscosity depending on the type of application desired. Once hardened, the cement acquires an intact structure which enhances the mechanical properties of the implant.
OrthoSteady G and G3A Bone Cements are suitable for two stage arthroplasty revision. In details, in case:

  • of global and localized conditions could bring a risk of infection;
  • of compromised global condition, such as: undernourishment, diabetes, systematic infections;
  • of a local infection which requires a total joint revision.

STANDARD VISCOSITY CEMENTS: G1 AND ORTHOSTEADY G

OrthoSteady G and G1 are standard viscosity radiopaque bone cements whose primarily use is manual application.

The G1™/OrthoStady G sterile radiopaque bone cements have a consistency and working time particularly suitable for cementation of knee prostheses. In the initial phases, both have properties that also make them suitable for cementation of hip prostheses.

OrthoSteady G bone cement contains and releases the aminoglycoside antibiotic gentamicin to protect the cured cement and contiguous tissue against contamination by microbes sensitive to gentamicin.
It is especially recommended for revision and in the event of sensitive to gentamicin microbe’s infections.

Characteristics:
  • reduced mixing time (under a minute to obtain a homogeneous product);
  • working time suited to the type of application (4-5 minutes);
  • polymerisation is completed after 10 minutes to reduce the risk of micro movements of
    the prosthesis once applied;
  • mechanical properties in conformity to regulatory requirements;
  • low polymerisation temperature to reduce the risk of thermal shock on the tissues.

LOW VISCOSITY CEMENTS: G3™ AND G3A™

G3™ and G3A™ bone cements are a low viscosity cement, primarily intended for syringe application. If G3A™ is applied digitally, the surgeon must use their clinical judgment to decide when the cement viscosity is suitable to allow the surgical procedure to continue.

G3™ and G3A™ bone cements are particularly suitable for cementation of hip and shoulder prostheses.

The version with antibiotic is indicated in revision operations and in cases where there is a risk of infections caused by organisms sensitive to gentamicin.

Characteristics:
  • reduced mixing time (under a minute to obtain a homogeneous product);
  • working time suited to the type of application (6-8 minutes);
  • polymerisation is completed after 13 minutes to reduce the risk of micro movements of the prosthesis once applied;
  • mechanical properties in conformity to regulatory requirements;
  • low polymerisation temperature to reduce the risk of thermal shock on the tissues.
